The Class of 1959 Loses Classmate

The class of 1859 has lost another classmate.  Marvin Bernard “Bennie” Friedel passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 in New Braunfels, Texas.  A Celebration of Marvin’s Life service will be held on Monday, July 7, 2014 at the First  United Methodist Church, 572 West San Antonio, New Braunfels, Texas, at 2:00 PM.   Classmates are asked to remember Bennie and his family in their prayers during this difficult time.  Classmates who would like to leave messages for the family may do so at the Zoeller Funeral Home, New Braunfels, Texas  web page.

2014 Marks the 55th Anniversary

May of 2014 marks the 55th year the class of 1959 graduated from Bishop Forest High School.  Throughout the years our class has maintained close ties and we continue to try to remember and honor the great opportunity we all received in a strong Catholic education.  With the ropes of the past we continue to ring the bells of the future.

Our Sympathy

Joe W. Stavinoha, husband of Loraine Vacek Stavinoha, class of 1959, passed away on November 13, 2013.  He is survived by his wife, son Mike Stavinoha, daughter Charlotte Cuccia, five grandchildren and one great grandchild.  Visitation: November 17 from 5-8PM with a Rosary at 7:00PM at Klein Funeral Home in Tomball, Texas.  Mass of Christian burial at 10:00AM on November 18 at Assumption Catholic Church in Houston, Texas, followed by a rite of committal at Klein Memorial Park, Tomball, Texas.

Please remember the Stavinoha family in your prayers at this difficult time.

The 50th reunion of the class of 1959 was held at Oakridge Smokehouse in Schulenburg, Texas on Saturday, November 14, 2009 at 2:00 PM.  Sixteen classmates and three faculty members, plus spouses and guests gathered to commemorate this once in a lifetime event.  Everyone enjoyed a great meal and an interesting movie about memories from the days at BFHS. A total of thirty one guests attended this reunion. Attendees renewed acquaintances and shared stories throughout the evening.  Everyone had a great time reflecting upon the bonds that made us the first graduation class at Bishop Forest High School.  Our class resolved to reunite again in 2014.

  1. 2017 marks the 58th year that we graduated from Bishop Forest High School and began our journey to live the life and values we were thought in this fine catholic high school. We look forward to 2019 when we will mark our 60th year as alumni of the class of 1959.
