Deceased alumni from all BFHS classes were remembered at special memorial Mass held at St. Rose Catholic Church in Schulenburg, Texas at 5:00PM on Saturday, August 2, 2014. The celebrant for the Mass was Rev. Tim Kosler.
A special candle light ceremony was held in the church, honoring those alumni who have gone to their eternal reward. The name of every deceased BFHS graduate was called and a candle was lit to recognize the class with which they graduated. 93 deceased alumni were individually remembered. The candles were lit by BFHS alumni in attendance at the Mass.
A special stand, covered with dark green fabric, monogrammed with the white letters “BF”, and topped with a gold cross served as a special place of honor for the deceased alumni remembered at the Mass. Those alumni attending the Mass were moved by the ceremony as the names of their classmates were called. They may be gone from our midst, but they will never be forgotten.
